Roti Canai Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1/2 kg all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil
- 2 tablespoons condensed milk
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup water (estimated - pour gradually while kneading until a smooth dough is formed)
Instructions:
Combine Wet Ingredients:
- Mix condensed milk, egg, salt, and water until well dissolved.
Mix Dry Ingredients:
- Place the flour and cooking oil in a bowl.
- Pour the wet mixture into the bowl with flour and oil. Knead until it forms a smooth and soft dough.
Divide and Shape:
- Divide the dough into balls, approximately 75g-80g each.
- Brush each dough ball with margarine and place them in a container. Add a little cooking oil. Allow the dough to marinate for 6-7 hours or overnight. If you're in a hurry, 4 hours of marination should be sufficient.
Rest and Ferment:
- After marinating, the dough can be spread out for cooking. If you marinate for a shorter time, it can still be used, but longer marination enhances the flavor.
Cooking:
- Fry the roti canai until it's cooked and ready to serve.
